Bon Appetit!
It’s been three days since I’ve been home from France and the amazing feeling of “I’VE BEEN IN FRANCE!” remains unfaded. Whether I’m alone or in conversation, memories are constantly tumbling out, flooding my senses with tastes, smells, sounds, and sights. Nostalgia strikes hard when I realize how different things are here, only an ocean away. This trip to France has overwhelmed my expectations completely and left me with a strong desire to make my way back there someday. It's crazy that it was only two weeks, but I think time slows when each second is so densely packed with history and experience.
To close out this series on France, I'll shed some light into one of my favorite parts of the trip: the food! A word to the wise, if you plan on going to France for any amount of time, make sure you love bread. I don't think I had a single meal without it. And it also helps if you're a lover of dessert :) So I'm just going to dive in and hope I don't start drooling or crying as I add in these pictures :P
Let's start of with one of the most classic French dishes: escargot. It was my first time eating snails and I was surprised to find them quite tasty...probably because of the butter and garlic they're soaked in. This was an appetizer by the way...my friend and I shared it for dinner and we were very full (aka much bread was eaten to mop up the buttery sauce).
French people are also surprisingly good at making pizza (maybe because they're so close to Italy). An egg on a pizza is a pretty customary thing, and quite ingenious. I think the only eggs I ate in France were on top of pizzas.

Okay, whew. Let's move onto some desserts :) Starting with the best: crème brulée. No words can describe the amazingness of a French crème brulée. Just can't.
And tiramisu...

And of course, ice cream :) I was constantly eating it, every chance I got.
